Q: What do you do that's different? A: I specialize in gentle techniques that DO NOT HURT. I help the body clear what's blocking it from healing. Many people think that a chiropractic adjustment always means being twisted or "cracked" and this is not the case. My advanced treatments can be so painless and gentle that patients have been known to fall asleep while being adjusted! If you need a more traditional adjustment, I am one of the most precise and gentle you will ever meet.
Q: What can Chiropractic do for me? A: It reduces pain, decreases inflammation, increases range of motion, restores normal joint function, removes nerve interference, and improves the quality of healing reducing residual problems.
Q: How does it do that?
A: The short, most technically accurate answer is that it improves NeuroMusculoSkeletal Health:
Structure affects function which affects the ability of the systems to work properly, i.e. a misalignment that interferes with nerve function affects an organ or a joint in such a way that it becomes stressed and dis-eased. Enough imbalance and misalignment over time or in critical places and dis-ease is the result.
All the parts working All the time = Optimal Health
Some parts working Some of the time = Reduced Health
Seems simplistic, but this is health, otherwise imbalance and disease result. Chiropractic puts things back in balance and alignment, which is why we say
Optimal Spine = Optimal Health
Who is Dr.H
This is the part where I''d truly rather remain an enigma, but I'm asking you to trust me and most people would rather know a bit about the person who is going to be working on them.
I was born in Reno, Nevada and grew up in northern California in Nevada County, in a place called Grass Valley in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. I always had an interest in science and had intentions of studying medicine from a young age. When I was 14 years old I broke my leg playing baseball, which caused me to want to become an Orthopedist instead of a GP.
I graduated from High School in 1976, and attended Sierra College where I started taking classes to pursue my interest in Medicine. I lived in Italy for a couple of years, and when I returned to continue my pre-med studies I had the opportunity to observe the difference between Medicine and Chiropractic in a way that made me want to become a Chiropractor.
I graduated from Life Chiropractic College-West in 1988 and have practiced in California since that time. Between then and now I've had a couple of serious motorcycle accidents so I've had some inside-out experience with rehabilitation and overcoming challenges. I've got a pretty eclectic and wide ranging set of hobbies and interests ranging from things like reading, writing and sculpture to things like fencing, improv comedy, playing blues harmonica. and rock climbing.

I have been involved with the healing arts for forty years and if nothing else I can recognize another healer. Brian Hatfield is a healer. He is also a true renaissance man, a magician, musician, martial artist, and a healer. He is also a scholar always pursuing not only the art of a chiropractic physician but the hard science of if through continued studies in physics, pathophysiology, microbiology and more. It is an honor to have someone like him in my life.
